By way of explanation

They turned the water off today for. . . something. They forgot to turn in back on. When we discovered this, it became my responsibility to figure it out. Because if you are dating/engaged and female, you are exempt. So my cousin (male) and I fixed the problem as best we could, while the cousin's girlfriend (aka my roommate) and my engagged sister went to bed.

No, I'm not bitter.

Oh wait. Yes. Yes I am.

Amen. Last night one of my good yet critically judgmental friends let me know that I really wasn't "seriously considering" the boy I've been dating recently.

Really? Well thank you very much. Since you've seen me maybe twice in the last 3 weeks.

Can I borrow your "judgement-passing-on-a-comparative-scale-with-my-own-goodness-label-maker" sometime?

Next time you could call her bluff and do your morning and evening routines elesewhere for the next week.

The real question is how much inconvenience are you willing to put up with to try to teach someone a lesson they won't even understand.

That's the problem I guess. As the infamous Mike Herrera once put it, "some battles are better left unwon."

Personally, I think the rabbit hole goes a lot deeper than mere diamond ring exemptions.

Your roommate and sister went to bed together?

Maybe those engagements should get a raised eyebrow.
